Created during 2022–2023, this series of ceramic miniature figurines uses my own childhood image at age six as its foundation – a crucial turning point in my growth. It delves into my childhood experiences with social anxiety and the uncertainties of the unknown.
The work expresses the conflict between hiding and being seen. It captures the need for safety and seclusion behind protective walls, balanced against the deep-seated urge for recognition from the outside world, which necessarily demands dropping one’s guard.
